Scarlet - Migration Guide
Upgrading Scarlet version
Upgrading an old Scarlet version to a newer one is as easy as following the how-to guide.
Just take care of the following:
- If required, upgrade both Jira and Terracotta versions.
- Apply the new Scarlet version to a fresh Jira distribution: do not reuse Jira binaries that were already patched by a previous Scarlet version.
- Empty the Scarlet configuration directory by running the following command into the Scarlet installation directory: ant clean-tc-server-data.
- If you keep your existent Jira database with all its data, you will not be asked to setup your Jira installation: you will just have to rebuild Jira indexes through the administration web interface.
Migrating Jira to Scarlet
Migrating an existent, plain, Jira installation to Scarlet without losing all data is as easy as following the
how-to guide.
Just take care of the following:
- The Jira version you are migrating must be supported by Scarlet.
-
Scarlet overwrites the following configuration files:
- WEB-INF/web.xml
- WEB-INF/classes/osuser.xml
- WEB-INF/classes/scheduler-config.xml
- WEB-INF/classes/propertyset.xml
- WEB-INF/classes/jira-application.properties
- WEB-INF/classes/log4j.properties
- If you keep your existent Jira database with all its data, you will not be asked to setup your Jira installation: you will just have to rebuild Jira indexes through the administration web interface.
